Portable Washing Machines
Portable washing machines can save you time and stress, the last thing you want to do when you are holidaying or travelling I know is washing. It can be a little frustrating when you finally make the dreaded trip to the caravan park laundry to find all the washing machines in use and others lined up waiting for the next available machine.
There is an answer, up until not to long ago a portable washing machines in caravans were plastic tubs full of soapy water.
There are some nifty little hand operated portable washing machines which are suitable for washing a few items at a time. These units usually use a tumbling action to wash the clothes.
Washing machine manufactures have realised there is a market and have started manufacturing miniature versions of the domestic washing machines. Prepare yourself though; one of these Portable washing machines will cost you as much as a full size washing machine. A lot of manufacturers of new larger caravans have conveniently located or at least provided a space for one of these portable washing machines in the shower / toilet area of their caravans.With a little ingenuity, a few modifications and a little bit of plumbing you could easily install into cupboards of an older style caravans portable washing machines.
There is however a cheaper portable washing machine, it is a miniature plastic version of the old twin tub washing machine. They have a 2kg capacity and are very portable, in fact you could probably keep one of these little units in a cupboard and just bring it out when you want to do some washing. They are selling in Australia for less than $200, reasonable for a portable washing machine.
