RV Water Heaters

RV water heaters are another useful creature comfort, there are a few different options available.

  Firstly there is the RV water heaters that can run on either 240 volts or gas, this unit also needs a 12v supply for the gas ignition. These units usually have about a 9 litre storage tank and can be mounted under a bunk or in a cupboard with a flush flue arrangement protruding out of the side of the caravan.

 
Secondly there is a 240v 15A instantaneous electric unit which although requires a substantial power supply delivers continuous hot water.

Thirdly there are instantaneous gas RV water heaters available that run on LPG.

Finally there is the 240v storage type HWS. There are some particularly good models available to caravan and marine environments. They are designed to be mounted horizontally, vertically or even at 45 Deg. One manufacturer has an 80 litre model that only consumes 1200 watts.

The gas RV water heaters should be installed and piped by a licensed gas fitter, and if the electric units are not fitted with a flex and plug a licensed electrician should be used to connect these types of RV water heaters .
